Consultation - What does it entail?

A domestic consultation can last anything from 2-5 hours (sometimes more) for a 5 roomed house. Each consultation differs slightly according to the specific needs of the client but there are certain common procedures:

• Talking — the consultant needs to know what you desire to change in your life.
• Mapping — the consultant will draw a map of your spaces for you to keep for reference.
• Recommendations — regarding functions of rooms, colour, design, layout, & finally, placement. Other issues specific to each property and the particular occupants of the building (particularly in business spaces) may also be addressed, eg. office politics.

When is it Best to have a Consultation?

• Before any colours, wall paper, paint, fabric, decoration, refurbishment, structural changes (external & internal) are decided upon and long before the architect finishes the design.
• Before you've tidied up — it is more useful to see how things usually are.
• Before you move/choose a new home.
• Before you landscape.
• Before your life passes you by whilst you wait until you’re ready...
